Project Service Automation
In any company today, we know that a project has a significant role and managing one is not an easy task. The development of a software tool for improved business processes and applying techniques to finish the project from start to finish is the solution. With the help of project service automation, an integral part of microsoft dynamics crm, not only do you get to manage your activities effectively but also collaborate with your stakeholders at one place.
This is a one-stop-shop to manage the whole project from project planning to time and expenses management, resource allocation to tracking progress and report building through analytics & integration. Furthermore, you can do billing of customers from within the system.
It also accounts for a seamless integration and rich environment, with all the features available on a mobile device or on cloud and one gets to choose as per his requirements.
So there are two out-of-the-box features available to us that help the user get a holistic view of the project and track the activities and tasks accordingly. These are:-
1. Resource Manager Dashboard
2. Practice Management Dashboard
The first one tells us all the resource requests that have been made by role or by date. The other dashboard shows us the cost, margins, utilization and hours spent. For example – one metric may help you know the gross margin by month but you may want to drill it down to gross margin by role. You could perform such tasks as per your business needs.
There is a step-by-step process for project service as to what we call stages. This starts from Qualify Stage, which is opportunity management. Going further, the next one is the Develop Stage, where in you make a quote. Then comes the Proposal Stage. Then comes the Project Closing.
Additionally there is a work breakdown structure (WBS) commonly known as the Gantt chart. This provides a visual view to track the progress of your project. This gives the ability to see what the task is, what role it is delivering and how many hours have been spent or are required to complete it. Also, you may toggle the chart by day, week, month or year. Even the project estimate is also visible.
Lastly, it also comes with allocating the resources to a particular task which can be done by a project manager with necessary skill set. Thus, to cut back time and money this is a smart solution for you and for your business to be in order to make new customers and retaining them as well.
